School Uniform

We are keen to foster a sense of pride in Curridge Primary School and wearing a uniform represents a sense of belonging. Our uniform is designed to be smart, equal to the demands of the school day and easy to look after. Wearing  a uniform also means that when we leave the classroom and explore the world beyond, our children are easy to spot and keep safe.

No child will be discriminated against or excluded from any activity because of the cost or availability of a uniform. In cases of difficulty, parents/carers are encouraged to approach the school office for help.

Our school colours are bottle green, grey and white. Purple sweatshirts are worn in Year 6.

Uniform

  • Grey trousers, shorts, skirts or tunics
  • Green gingham checked dresses, usually worn in the summer
  • White shirts, blouses or polo shirts; bottle green polo shirts with school emblem
  • Green sweatshirt or cardigan with school emblem (purple in Year 6)
  • Grey, white or black socks; black grey or green thick tights.

Footwear

School shoes should be black with a strap or fastenings of either Velcro, buckles or laces. School shoes should not be trainers, boots, open-toed sandals, novelty shoes with flashing lights, ballet slippers or pumps. Chidren may bring  outdoor footwear; trainers or wellington boots for use, in wet weather, at break times. Children should be able to remove, put on and fasten their shoes independently.

PE Kit

Indoors: PE kit shorts and polo-shirt. Non marking trainers or bare feet. Plimsolls are not suitable for sporting activities.

Outdoors in cold weather: Black leggings or tracksuit bottoms. A sports sweatshirt can be purchased from Skoolkit if you so wish. Trainers and short white socks.

The Curridge School PE kit is available from Skoolkit. The PE kit should be worn for PE lessons and when representing Curridge School at sporting events. Plimsolls are not suitable for sporting activities.

Jewellery

Children may wear watches in school at their own risk. Alarms must be turned off so that they do not disturb lessons.  Only stud earrings can be worn in school.  During PE, ear studs should either be removed or taped over.  (Please supply your own tape.)

Hair

Children must tie back hair that is shoulder-length or longer. Hair accessories should be in school colours (bottle green, grey, white or black).

Lost Property

Please label your child's clothes and shoes. Clearly-named lost property is returned to children. Unmarked lost property is collected in labelled boxes near the front office which parents are welcome to look through at the end of the school day. While we will try to help trace lost items, children's possessions are their own responsibility.
