Green Man by Sofia

Green men are made of stone and are often carved in buildings. Willow Class made some out of clay. They painted them with different types of green paint.

Green Men are symbolic of the beginning of spring.

These sculptures will be exhibited in Newbury Museum during the summer term.

Interview with Miss Warner by Daniel

1. Can you explain a bit more about the five ways of wellbeing?

The five ways of wellbeing are: Take notice, keep active, connect, give and keep learning. For example, to take notice means look out for beautiful bugs, trees and green men when you take a trip.

2. How stable is the school currently?

We are currently working on lots of nurture sessions and doing PHSE weekly. We try to keep a positive environment.

3. How has Covid-19 affected the school's health and wellbeing?

Some children missed their friends and found it difficult but some are doing really well.

4. What strategies do you use so you know how pupil's are feeling?

We use worry boxes and worry monsters, peer mentors and happy books.

Sensational Squirrels

1. There are over 200 different species of squirrel

2. Squirrels are native to every continent except for Antartica and Australia

3. Squirrels have great eyesight to see and escape from predators

4. Squirrels are omnivores so they love nuts but also eat the carcasses of dead animals

5. Squirrels are born blind
